Worldwide Pinhole Photography Day 2021 Poster

Each year for nearly two decades, thousands of people from around the planet have participated in the annual WPPD event.

The event is meant to be fun and creative. It brings people together from nearly every nation around the globe. I see it as a tool for friendship.

Pinhole is a classification of photography that produces an image from nothing more than a hole in a box. There is no actual lens. The image produced relies on light from all parts of the scene traveling in straight lines through a tiny opening at the front of the camera. Each ray of light creates a point of brightness within the camera.

My first WPPD image may be the very first digital pinhole ever produced. When I worked at Kodak, I removed the lens from a digital camera and replaced it with a very tiny pinhole.

Any subject is allowed as long as the final image is made with a pinhole or a pinhole device.

Join the fun and begin to see the world in a very different light.

Here is the link to the WPPD website – Worldwide Pinhole Photography Day.

FYI—the WPPD website will not be fully active for a few weeks until the team completes the site for this year’s event. I tend to jump the gun due to my own enthusiasm for creating pinhole images. 🙂

You can find out more about the group and the event at www.pinholeday.org.

There, you will find links to many ways to create pinhole images.

You can also start by reading my posts about pinhole imaging here on Lensgarden.com.

This poster should be available soon at a larger size on the WPPD resource page.

This is the latest version of the my annual Worldwide Pinhole Photography Day poster.
